Prep is most of the job. We run diamond grinders over the whole slab to take off old sealer and the smooth top layer. That gives the epoxy an open surface to grab. The same grinders run our warehouse and hangar floor jobs. Cracks and chipped edges get filled and shaved flat before any color goes on. If the slab sits below grade or shows damp patches, we test for moisture first. Then we pick a system that can handle it. Skipping these steps is why coatings peel. A floor that is ground and patched right will stay stuck to the concrete for years.
Most garages are a 1 day job. The crew grinds in the morning, patches, then lays the epoxy base and broadcasts flake across it. Once the flake sets, the surface gets scraped and the clear top coat goes down. We bring a storage trailer so your tool boxes and bikes have somewhere to sit. Price comes down to the floor in front of us. Square footage sets the base, and a 3 car garage costs more than a single. Condition moves it from there. A slab with wide cracks or a failed DIY kit needs repair before the coating starts. That repair work adds labor. The system you pick matters too. A full flake floor with a polyaspartic top coat sits above a plain solid color epoxy. Moisture can change things as well. A damp slab needs a vapor barrier product under the color, which raises the material cost. Odd shapes, steps and coved edges also add time.

Utah gives a garage floor a rough year. Every winter your tires drag road salt and de-icer off the street and drop it on the slab.
